Why us

Why teams choose AI Search Lab

We align classic SEO hygiene with modern AI search realities: entities & relationships, answerability, verifiability, and ingestion.

What you'll get from a consulting engagement

Our process

Our research-driven method

  1. Intent discovery: Map high-value questions and actions your buyers ask AI systems.
  2. Rubric scoring: Apply our 9-point GEO/AEO rubric to quantify gaps and opportunity size.
  3. Entity & schema design: Model product/service knowledge with JSON-LD, IDs, and relationships.
  4. Answerability & evidence: Craft concise, verifiable answers with citations and trustworthy sources.
  5. Ingestion & distribution: Prepare sitemaps, feeds, and references so LLMs can find, parse, and ground.
  6. Measure & iterate: Track coverage, citations, and time-to-visibility; run controlled experiments.

Under the hood: entity salience, retrieval-augmented grounding signals, citation likelihood, schema validation, and crawl-friendliness.

Measurement framework

How we measure success (KPI Glossary)

AI Intent Coverage (AIC)
Share of tracked intents where your brand appears in the AI answer or sources panel.
AIC = (# intents with appearance in top answers or sources) / (total tracked intents) × 100%
Citation Rate (CR)
Percent of observed AI answers that explicitly cite or mention your brand/domain.
CR = (# answers citing/mentioning brand) / (# answers observed) × 100%
Time-to-First-Mention (TTFM)
Median days from content publish/update to first brand mention in any tracked AI answer.
TTFM = median( first_mention_date − publish_date )
Entity Health Score (EHS)
Completeness & validity of key entities and relationships (schema, IDs, sameAs links).
EHS = (valid entities with complete schema) / (target entities) × 100%
Evidence Strength Index (ESI)
Weighted share of claims backed by high-trust, crawlable citations (first-party & third-party).
ESI = Σ( claim_i_weight × citation_trust_i ) / Σ( claim_i_weight )
Grounding Accuracy (GA)
Percent of sampled AI answers that are factually correct given your ground truth.
GA = (# correct answers) / (# sampled answers) × 100%
Ingestion Latency (IL)
Time from sitemap/feed ping to first crawl detection (proxy for freshness).
IL = median( first_crawl_detected − ping_time )
AI Share of Voice (AI-SoV)
Weighted visibility across intents and engines, factoring rank/placement.
AI-SoV = Σ( intent_weight × placement_weight ) / Σ( intent_weight )
Conversion Lift from AI (CL-AI)
UTM-tracked lifts from AI-referred or AI-influenced sessions.
CL-AI = (ConvRate_AI − ConvRate_baseline) / ConvRate_baseline × 100%

We report per engine (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot) and per geography where relevant. Benchmarks establish your baseline before implementation.

FAQ

KPI & Reporting Questions

How do you build the KPI panel?

We maintain a tracked set of buyer-relevant intents. Our agent runs scheduled checks across AI engines, captures the raw answers/sources, and computes KPIs by engine and intent cluster.

How often do you measure?

Weekly by default (daily for launch sprints). Monthly rollups show trend lines and confidence intervals.

What’s a good starting target?

Post-implementation, teams typically aim for: +20–40 pts AIC growth on tracked intents, +10–20 pts Citation Rate, TTFM ≤ 14 days for new posts, and ≥ 90% Entity Health. We calibrate targets by competition and content velocity.

How do you attribute conversions to AI answers?

We use UTM conventions, landing-page tagging, and analytics segments for AI-referred / AI-influenced sessions, then compare to a matched baseline (channel/time/control content where possible).

Does this conflict with SEO?

No. Strong entities, clean schema, and verifiable answers reinforce SEO. We keep SEO hygiene (CWV, internal linking, sitemaps) while optimizing for LLM parsing and citation behavior.

Models change — will my KPIs whipsaw?

We normalize with intent weights, multi-engine sampling, and rolling averages. Release-spike alerts flag anomalies, and we re-score rubrics after major updates.

What data do you store?

Only what’s needed for KPI computation: prompts/intents list, captured answer text, citation URLs, timestamps, and your site’s public metadata. No customer PII unless you explicitly provide it.

Can we bring our own intents & benchmarks?

Yes. We’ll merge your intent list and historical metrics into our tracker so KPIs reflect your funnel.

Our clients

Who we help
